SCULPTOR

Marioton Eugene

1857-1933

He was born in Paris and attended the Beaux-Arts classes with Dumont and Thomas as his teachers. From 1881, he exhibited groups on anecdotal, allegorical or inspired by ancient themes, he sculpted in a classical manner in the academic vein, and executed sumptuous compositions in marble and bronze. He also engraved medals and produced less after 1918, finishing his life in his native town. His brother was also a sculptor.
