Commode in Red China Lacquer

Rare commode in Regence style on a background of red lacquer decorated with scenes of Chinese characters and multicoloured landscapes.
Arched and curved front feet, the body rests on two feet which are more flared towards the back. Two drawers open without visible crossover, adorned with cuffs and keyholes on the front in engraved and gilded bronzes.
Top of commode decorated in a beautiful fretwork in Portor ochre yellow veined marble (Italian).
