Elegant pair of ewers on a column attributed to Enrico Scalabrini

Impressive large pair of pedestal columns facing one another, with centred ewers on top, each side having symmetrical patterns, in bronze and with a dark green patina. Richly decorated with finely engraved and gilded bronze, matt gold and burnished gold.
The central part of the column is curved and presents in the centre of each face a section in gilded bronze. Uprights support beautiful acanthus leaf sconces on all four sides.
A garland hangs with fruit and foliage, joined in the centre by the mask of an old man.
The panel is adorned with an oval portrait and a hanging decoration of Pegasus and the heads of winged figures.
Featuring a detachable ewer with a piedouche, in bronze with a dark green patina. The piedouche supports the belly of the vase, which is topped with a large, flared neck, all joined by a handle with a motif of the bust of a naked woman.
The body of the vase, decorated in a lace of acanthus leaves in gilded bronze, is adorned in its centre on both sides with two medallions representing Venus and Cupid.
The column is supported by a set of four recessed lion’s claw feet.
