Minerva and Mars
Pair of candelabras from the Empire period in patinated and gilded bronze, representing Minerva and Mars facing one another, in helmets and tunics, standing on quadrangular bases with motifs of victory and arms of light underlined with rais-de-cœur. A large torchbearer is at their feet in patinated bronze holding a laurel wreath with ribbons, patterned with acanthus leaves and finished with light branches, engraved and gilded drip pans and bobeches.
French work from the first quarter of the 19th century.
