BRATEAU Jules Paul
Table mirror in solid silver and silver-gilt, chiselled with openwork in the style of ironwork.
Two feet decorated with winding leaves and acanthus leaves, bound by garlands of flowers centred on a mascaron. Very fine amounts of openwork including coiling and interlacing. Centred pediment on a large cartouche flanked by coiling acanthus leaves and rosettes.
Signed Brateau on the reverse side of the mirror, bearing the inscription pièce unique style Renaissance (unique piece, Renaissance style)
Silver hallmarked around 5,5 Kg.
French work made for the exhibition at the Salon in Paris 1892.
