Pair of agate cassolettes forming a candle holder
Pair of small cassolettes in agate and finely engraved and gilded bronze, forming a candle holder.
The stem, baluster-shaped, with a high neck decorated with openwork flowers and foliage, is framed by friezes with drops. It is flanked on either side by two busts of women blowing, joined by hanging garlands of flowers. The rounded lid, topped with a pinecone, turns over to form a drip pan. Claw feet rest on a circular base with overhanging flowers.
Louis XVI style model.
French work from the second half of the 19th century around 1850-1860.
