Pair of large and finely engraved bronze candelabra gilded with a matt and shiny patina.
Rich decoration of interlacing patterns, Vitruvian scroll frieze, foliage bases, woman’s mask and garlands of fruit.
The stem is adorned in its centre with an antique vase with a saraband of cupids in the frieze, a neck with twisted flutes and is crowned with a pinecone.
Triangular tripod base resting on twelve small feet surmounted by a garland of flowers.
It presents, on an entablature of drapery, nine sconces in console with leaf winding arranged in three rows. Double-layered drip pans and bobeches embellished with pearls.
Louis XVI style, inspired by an original model from Pierre Gouthière.
French work carried out in the second half of the XIX century around 1870.
Signed in bronze by Maison Picard.
Napoleon III period.
