Pair of Louis XV armchairs
Pair of large Louis XV armchairs with a carved and moulded flat walnut backrest, decorated with arched foliage and a pomegranate motif. The backrest is attached by armrests with ‘coup de fouet’ manchettes and carved with acanthus leaves. Scalloped and moulded edging with a pattern of an open shell and acanthus leaves, carved sides. It rests on four curved feet finished with coils.
French work from the beginning of the Louis XV period, circa 1730-1740
