Rare and important suite of six Louis XVI style sconces

Extremely rare suite of six important three-light sconces in finely chased and gilded bronze. The lyre-shaped plates are supported by garlands, ribbons and snakes. The base has a faun’s head and attributes of Music – Pan’s horn and flute, often used during Dionysian rites. The scrolled arms with rosettes support vine branches. The drip pans are encased in baskets filled with flowers and fruit.

Russian work with French inspiration executed by the famous manufacture Félix Chopin.
Félix Chopin was a Russian founder of bronze and ornaments, and supplier to the Imperial Court of the Tsar of Russia.
