Rocaille style inkwell by MESSAGÉ LÉON

Exceptional gilt bronze inkwell in Rocaille style representing two wells with lids decorated with acanthus leaves, flowers and acorns. Crowned with a Cupid holding a torch in his hand and reading a love letter.

This model was exhibited at the 1900 Paris Exposition accompanying the Grand Bureau of Messagé which received the gold medal prize.
