Pair of small armchairs from LXV-LXVI transition period by JANSEN JEAN-HENRI
JANSEN Jean-Henri
Pair of small cushioned armchairs, Louis XV-XVI style, in lacquered and carved wood,
sea-green colour, gold decorations and gilded strips. Medallion-shaped backrest with sculpted motifs such as pearls, interlacing, acanthus leaves of an extremely high-quality and scrolls supporting a pinecone on either side. Two armrests attached with vibrant decorations at the ends, connecting the seat frame decorated with a circular frieze with sections of interlacing and framed with pearls and squares with rosettes.
Curved base with vertical acanthus leaves pattern on the front, finished with volute hooves.
French work from the mid-twentieth century, around 1950.
