Exceptional and extremely rare chandelier of the so-called “cage” model, Rocaille style, in gilded bronze and crystal, with decorations of shells, oak branches, acanthus leaves and feather motifs. A woven basket in gilded bronze and openwork is in its center, from which emerges a crystal baluster column attached at the top by five arms of light with scrolls, surmounted by five crystal daggers.
Illuminated with sixteen lights on four levels, adorned at the tips with moulded crystal flower petals. Very impressive crystal ornamentation: plaques, flower petals, water drops, daggers and stars from the Baccarat manufacture.
French work from the end of the 19th century, around 1900.
