Fireplace garniture – MANUFACTURE BARBEDIENNE
Exquisite fireplace garniture in engraved and gilded bronze, comprising
a caged pendulum clock and a pair of candelabra with eight arms arranged in two rows, gilded in two shades of gold, yellow and red. Each has a four-footed base entwined with acanthus leaves and supported by ungulates’ hooves.
The bevelled glass cage of the pendulum clock contains a beautifully enamelled dial painted and signed “Ferdinand Barbedienne à Paris” surmounted by an antique vase. The candelabras have elegant busts of sheathed sphinxes. Red marble base.
